The organisers of EU-40 Group – all young energy professionals ourselves (around or younger than 40 years of age) – strongly believe that Europe can only get to grips with future energy challenges if we engage all sectors of our industry in a constructive and open dialogue on possible solutions and scenarios. We also think that (young) age can be helpful with the much needed creativity to generate new ideas, the means to implement them and to overcome the quite often old-fashioned thinking inherent in our industry.
As we see it, Brussels is currently lacking an attractive platform, which would allow young energy professionals to facilitate such a dialogue with colleagues from various corners of our sector. This is where the idea of EU-40 Group comes in. We want to develop a Brussels-wide network of young energy professionals who get together in an informal setting on a regular basis to exchange ideas, network and – foremost - have fun and some drinks with friends and colleagues.
